![]() ![]() While sample packs can be very expensive and having a large sample library of paid packs is amazing, there’s no reason you can’t get your collection going with free sample packs in 2022, and we’re here to show you some of our favorites. It was a hard lesson learned, but it forced me to take my drum samples VERY SERIOUSLY. I spent weeks crafting the catchiest and most compelling melody I could, and my drum sample selection was a second thought.Īnd I realized how much of a mistake this was when they announced the winner a young producer who submitted only a single drum loop (which I later learned he had sequenced and programmed using entirely free drum samples). I had been producing for a few years, enough to be past the beginner stage, and an incredible opportunity presented itself to the producer community – my favorite dance music producer opened up his demo box for collaborators on his upcoming album. So how did I learn this essential drum sample lesson? Well, I'll tell you. The lead could be mixed too quiet or the FX could be generic and predictable, but the drum samples had to be on point. ![]() The only advantage this pack has is the "nice" structure (well, at least it works for me). Many years ago, I learned the hard way that the drum samples you use in your tracks must be absolutely amazing. About 500 MB rar file, containing lots and lots of samples but you probably already have most/all of them. too much hihat on the snare hits, it just sounded retarded when used in a sampler/trigger.Īnyway, here you go. I couldn't slice the Thrice snare though. I have also sliced up all multi samples that I had lying around, including the Thrice kick that was posted. I have thrown away some samples that I have considered ridiculously bad or just as something I'm probably never going to use. This makes it easier for me to find a kick that suits me quickly since I often keep a mental image of this forum in my head and remember like "Behindert has an awesome kick, maybe that would work in this project." and so I just look it up and pick it out for use. There are folders for each drum kit piece like "Kick Samples", "Snare Samples" and so on, and in those folders are sub folders from whoever the samples come from, like "Behindert Kick", "Faderhead Kick" and so on. The result is: All the drum samples I've managed to gather from this forum (and a few other ones, including my own cymbal samples) in a nicely sorted fashion. I've spent hours and hours cleaning/sorting/rearranging all my files to get a nice structure and speed up my work in the "studio"/rehearsal room, and I thought I'd share one of the results from that work. ![]()
